The role of the Business Support Officer is to provide support to the High Risk Offender Management Unit and perform finance, human resource and administrative functions for the region.

To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills:
- Experience in financial functions and managing administration functions including experience with the use of financial management systems (SAP would be an advantage)
- Experience in managing and co-ordinating a wide range of account management functions
- Effective written and research skills including the ability to prepare reports and submissions on complex matters
- Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the position
- Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced by the ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders with a range of competing interests
- Problem solving and analytical skills for investigating and resolving HR issues, and for improving HR practices and processes
