Business Trainees - Learn while you earn
About the roles
We have two full-time, fixed term placements available for enthusiastic and motivated individuals, keen to gain hands-on experience and a nationally recognised qualification.
This is a 12-month traineeship in Certificate III in Business. You will combine on-the-job learning in administration and TAFE studies, completing your Certificate III within a 12 month period.
- Business Trainee–Youth Development:
The Youth Development team is part of the Community Capacity Building department. The team delivers a range of programs, activities and events for people aged 12 – 24, primarily from the Award-winning Rockingham Youth Centre. This trainee position will provide general administrative support, and will assist with some components of program and event planning and delivery. The role may also provide support to other Community Capacity Building teams on occasion.

- Business Trainee –Cultural Development and the Arts:
The Cultural Development and the Arts team is part of the Community Capacity Building department. The team delivers a range of programs, activities and events focusing on cultural development and arts. This trainee position will primarily operate from the Rockingham Arts Centre, assisting with administration and Gallery Attendant duties. However, some work will also span to other areas of Cultural Development and the Arts, as well as other Community Capacity Building teams, as required.
You will be required to respond to the following selection criteria as part of your online application:
- Have good verbal, numeracy and written communication skills
- Possess basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office suite
- Ability to work in accordance with WHS obligations
- Be able to provide excellent customer service
What we can offer
We are offering a gross salary from $25,808 to $46,925, depending on age in line with the City’s trainee classification and:
- 11% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
