Established 30 + years ago, they have been a leader within their market for several years. Employing more than 200 across Australia, they design and manufacture small to medium engineering products, and special-purpose equipment used in several sectors.
The position would suit a versatile and creative CAD designer, either a structural, mechanical, or product designer with both Solid Edge and SOLIDWORKS design experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Consulting with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Creating and designing Industrial, Commercial, Infrastructure, and retail equipment and products.
- 3D CAD Design – Siemens Solid Edge AND SOLIDWORKS.
- Conducting new technology studies and managing client expectations and delivery dates.
- Mechanical and structural (sheet metal design).
- Design from initial concept to completion.
- Occasionally produce product concept sketches - in 2d and hand for sales staff and PMs when asked to visit a site.
- Document all designs for manufacture and production.
- Design to Australian standards.
- Manage BOM's and write CAD API solutions while overseeing quality control aspects of designated projects.
- Implement process change and continuous improvements to designs.
To be a successful fit for this full-time/permanent role, you will have:
- Degree & TAFE qualified candidates are preferred but will consider time served from the tools.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience - $85k to 20 years of experience $110k.
- Must be a creative designer.
- Proficient in both Solid Edge and SOLIDWOKS.
