Cad Manager

The opportunity

Momentum Engineering is on the hunt for an experienced and motivated IT Systems & CAD Manager.  This is a pivotal role, working closely with our Design Leads to manage and improve our CAD Autodesk design systems as well as having responsibility for our IT systems. Your experience and knowledge will also contribute to the development and growth of the business. 

Role Specifics:

CAD Support Management

• Maintain the AutoCAD build, customisation, templates, symbol library, backing sheets, Plant3D E&I specifications and catalogues, BIM360, Civil 3D and Advance Steel configurations
• Focal point for resolving issues and liaison with Client for Client specific CAD build, customisation queries and issues
• Provision of technical advice and support to the Lead Designers on technical design and CAD\Database specifics
• Liaise with Information Technology personnel to ensure computers are setup correctly and advise on group structure and standard CAD and Engineering capable PC requirements
• Manage CAD hardware and software systems for the design team.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of company procedures for CAD Specification\Database operation and maintenance
• Develop and maintain methods, documentation and systems including system licenses 
• Maintaining the CAD build, customisation, templates, symbol library, backing sheets, Plant3D piping specifications and catalogues, Advance Steel configuration
• Focal point for resolving issues and liaison with Client for Client specific CAD build, customisation queries and issues
• Technical support to the Lead Designers
• Ensuring consistency of CAD setup within the Design and Drafting team

IT Systems Management

• Manage the IT Provider (Review quotes and performance)
• Ensure setup of computer, software, etc. is complete prior to any new starts commencing
• Liaise with software vendors for upgrades and training
• Ensure the most efficient and effective hardware and software are utilised to support delivery of projects
• Manage system security, data protection & disaster recovery plan
• Developing and maintaining methods, documentation and systems including system licenses 
• ERP System Support - development of project reports

Requirements

Experience in any, or all, of the following (please clearly indicate your competency level, for each within your application).

• Autodesk AutoCAD 2D
• Autodesk Plant 3D
• Bentley Microstation
• Autodesk Advanced Steel
• Autodesk BIM 360
• SCADA ElecDes
• Microsoft SQL Server management
• Exposure to other packages e.g, STADD-Pro is also desirable.
