We are looking for a full time Cafe Manager to organise daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.
Job Brief
The Café Manager is responsible for all of the day-to-day café/ bar operations along with overseeing the front of house team. The manager will need to ensure a high level of customer service whilst serving fresh food and exceptional coffee. This role is a key contributor to event and function delivery and client satisfaction.Cafe Manager responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day operations of the café/restaurant
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise café staff and baristas;
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service;
- Scheduling shifts for baristas and wait staff;
- Oversee scheduling of staff members and be able to quickly find replacements in the event of a staff member being sick;
- Monitoring daily expenses and revenues;
- Monitor budgets to ensure that the café remains profitable. Actively find ways to lower operational costs;
- Monitor and maintain inventory;
- Work closely with customers to answer questions and listen to complaints regarding food quality and customer service;
- Listen to customer preferences and make suggestions;
- Ensure all café areas are clean and tidy;
- Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’preferences eg. vegan, keto;
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in cafes & restaurants including supervising small to large events and functions. You should be available to work during opening hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Work experience as a Cafe Manager or Barista [link removed];
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines;
- Good math skills;
- Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays);
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team;
- Customer service attitude;
- Diploma in Management; and
- Additional certification (e.g. in Business Administration or Hospitality) is a plus.
