In partnership with Site Management, Bis are seeking an Electrical Lead who can take charge of all day to day maintenance activity to ensure the reliability of our Tailings Stacking Facility at Karara. You will lead and mentor our maintenance team to ensure all maintenance is completed on time, to budget and in compliance with WHSE standards, legislation and Bis Industries Zero Harm values.
This position is offered on an 8/6 Roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

- Demonstrate commitment to our goal of Zero Harm to both personnel and equipment;
- Supervise all health and safety aspects of the plant and personnel and ensure WHSE management plans which target our goal of Zero Harm are carried out effectively;
- Communicating with all mechanical and electrical personnel to ensure maintenance schedules are carried out as per work order requirements and correct processes are adhered to;
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and provide documentation as required to meet WHSE, MSIA (Mine Safety Inspection Act) and client contract requirements;
- Follow up set inspections carried out daily and weekly to ensure the standard requirements identified within these inspections are maintained and where action is required, ensure remedial action plans are in place;
- Co-ordination of plant electrical repairs in consultation with site Electricians;
- Following and assisting with implementing Integrated Management System procedures and work instructions;
- Ensure appropriate records and paperwork are completed and records are submitted to the site management team in a timely manner; and
- Ensure statutory checks and procedures are recorded and maintained in relevant logs.
About you
To be successful, you must be willing to undergo a pre-employment aptitude & fitness for work test. You
will also require:
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership experience;
- Trade qualified with fixed plant maintenance experience;
- Ability to engage and lead a team of operators from both mechanical and electrical disciplines;
- Knowledge of OHS Act and MSIA (including relevant statutory requirements);
- HV switching trained (desirable);
- WA electrical workers license – A Class;
- Experience or exposure to air conditioning and/or refrigeration – desirable;
- Experience or exposure to vehicle (LV and mining equipment) electrical repairs – desirable.
- Strong computer skills – particularly MS Word and Excel;
- Strong administrative skills along with experience / skills with CMMS systems;
- Experience with work order process flow;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Positive safety attitude and awareness; and
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances and willing to be ‘hands on.
