Job description

About BDO (NTH QLD)
BDO (NTH QLD) is the leading full-service Audit, Tax, and Advisory firm in North Queensland, with 10 Partners within a total of 80 team members. For over 100 years our firm has provided local community support in North Queensland. We offer a unique combination of generous employee benefits, local market knowledge, career pathways, training, and technical expertise.
A Career in Business Services or Audit
We are currently seeking students who are interested in joining our Business Services and Audit teams. At BDO (NTH QLD), we understand the importance of balancing work and study, which is why our Undergraduate program is designed with flexibility in mind, offering students the opportunity to work while they complete their studies.
As an Undergraduate in Business Services, you will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team that will work with you to build a strong foundation for career progression. You will gain a solid understanding in the following areas:
Business reporting including payroll, superannuation, GST, financial reporting and ATO deadlines
Software exposure, including training and certification in systems such as MYOB and Xero.
Upon completion of your university degree, you will transition into a Graduate role where your career will then progress to developing taxation and business advisory expertise. These skills will be developed through on the job training within our supportive Business Services team environment as well as formal structured learning support.
As an Undergraduate in Audit, you will get ‘hands on experience’ in our Financial Reporting Team and be involved in real client work. You will be supported by our experienced team to build your accounting skills.
Upon completion of your university degree, you will transition into a Graduate role with the Audit team. As part of the audit team, you will often be away from the office, spending time at the client’s premises, building an understanding of the client’s business, identifying potential risks, and analysing information to provide the client and their stakeholders a level of assurance on the financial statements. You will be supported in your career development with a formal structured training program and on the job mentoring.
About you
We welcome students who are interested in joining our Business Services and Audit teams, and have the following qualifications and attributes:
