Fixed-Term (12 months) Part-Time (32 hours per week) - funding dependent position. * Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 Year 1-2
- Remuneration: $64.57-$65.85 per hour, excluding superannuation.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Gastrointestinal) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within the defined Gastrointestinal specialty. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Gastrointestinal) develops, facilitates implementation and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
The successful candidate will provide timely communication to a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners and community service personnel. Additionally, the Clinical Nurse Consultant will take a leading role in enhancing services and generating quality data for Cancer Care research.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in the ongoing review of clinical practice at facility or area health service level as required.
- Identifies innovative clinical practice models eg. Implementation and evaluation of new therapeutic techniques.
- Provides complex client-centred consultancy practices within a mixed clinical environment and across a series of services.
- Demonstrated advanced analytical and problem-solving ability to break down complex problems and develop a range of solutions based on specialist expert knowledge of Oncology.
- At least five years post graduate nursing with 3 years specialty experience in Oncology and Post graduate qualification (preferably Masters Level) related to Oncology or evidence of working towards same.
- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, with demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge of Oncology applied in a mixed clinical environment and/or across a range of services.
