Canteen Supervisors

Canteen Supervisor- 2 positions available!

Burraneer Bay Public School Parent & Citizens' Association is seeking two energetic, enthusiastic and innovative Canteen Supervisors to be employed on a casual basis up to 24 hours (4 days) per week for one position and up to 12 hours (2 days) per a week for the second position (both negotiable).

The roles are Monday to Friday usually 8am to 2:30pm – perfect to work around school hours. There is opportunity for this to be a job share position but both applicants must make themselves available on Fridays. The role will facilitate the ordering and preparation of food, the stock management and online receipt of lunch orders, and manage our canteen volunteering network within our wonderful school community.

To be considered for this position please provide an overview of your experience against the following:

Essential Criteria

· Have a current certificate in food handling or an equivalent qualification or willing to obtain one prior to starting.

· Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one prior to starting.

· Willingness and commitment to run the canteen operations in accordance with the “Healthy School Canteen Strategy’, and the ‘Nutrition in Schools Policy’.

· Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.

· Ability to organise and manage a volunteering roster.

· Willingness and skills to prepare, cook and promote healthy foods to the school on a daily basis.

· Demonstrated understanding of the importance of having good hygiene practices in place.

· A good understanding of WH&S principles.

Desirable Criteria

· Demonstrated experience working in a customer service role.

· Strong communication skills.

· Experience using computerised ordering system.

· Experience in the food and/or retail service industry.

· Experience in coordinating and supervising a small team of volunteers.

This is a vital and highly valuable role in the BBPS community – without which our students do not have canteen facilities. We are so fortunate to have had an incredible Supervisor for over 10 years who leaves the canteen in excellent shape and set up for success with established processes, systems and relationships.

Start Date:

No later than 6th May (Week 2, Term 2) 2024 to allow for a handover from the current Supervisor.

Wages:

Level 3 in accordance with Fast Food Industry Award 2020 for a casual employee: $33.24-$33.64 per hour.

As a paid employee of Burraneer Bay Public School P&C Association, the Canteen Supervisor reports to the Burraneer Bay School P&C Association and the employer’s representative, the P&C Association President.
