A bit about the role
The Capital Works Project Officer plays a critical role, driving the delivery of our landscape and active open space capital program. You will join our Landscape Design and Delivery Team to assist in the design, planning and delivery of recreation, landscape and open space Capital Works Projects.
You will project manage a range of projects that implement Councils Sports Facility Strategy and active open space master plans. You will lead projects across the full project lifecycle to handover, ensuring effective planning, documentation and engagement. It is an opportunity to truly enhance the landscape and open spaces and liveability across our city.
What you will do
- Full lifecycle project management of recreational landscape and open space asset delivery
- Manage funding deliverables, maintaining appropriate records and documentation to support funding partners
- Oversee ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of works and manage external resources and contractors
- Lead tendering process in partnership with Councils procurement team
- Prepare specifications and project briefs, ensuring positive engagement with internal, external and community stakeholders
What you will bring
- A passion for landscape and recreational open spaces
- Experience working within government procurement and Capital Works practices and standards
- Highly developed written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate with a range of different audiences
- Tertiary qualification in project management, landscape architecture or related field
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
