A1 Car Rentals in Cairns is a popular and busy Car Rental Agency. They are looking to hire an experienced Car Rental Agency Manager to join their team in Cairns.
The Role
This is a full time position with annual salary is set at $70,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
- Negotiate contracts for vehicle purchases, equipment, and fuel with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their rental needs and preferences, and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
- Offer expert advice to customers regarding vehicle selection, rental agreements, insurance options, and any obligations they have while renting a vehicle.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and efficiently to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the reservations system, ensuring bookings are accurately recorded, and vehicle availability is managed effectively to meet customer demands.
- Manage the acquisition of new vehicles for the rental fleet, ensuring a diverse selection to meet customer needs.
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all vehicles to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
- Plan and manage the scheduling of vehicle deliveries and returns, optimizing the use of the fleet and ensuring timely service to customers.
- Ensure that vehicles are stored and maintained in conditions that preserve their quality and readiness for rental.
- Arrange for the convenient collection and delivery of vehicles to and from customers or between rental locations.
- Keep detailed records of all transactions, fleet maintenance, customer interactions, and financial operations to ensure accurate reporting and business analysis.
- Compile regular reports on rental operations, including fleet utilization, revenue, customer feedback, and service efficiency.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including occupational health and safety standards. Implement safety protocols to protect employees and customers.
- Hire, train, and manage staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the fleet, rental policies, and customer service excellence.
- Work on marketing strategies to attract new customers, retain existing ones, and promote the Rental Agency through various channels, including online and offline advertising, promotions, and partnerships.
The Requirements:
- A relevant Diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in the Car Rental or broader vehicle management industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of operational challenges and customer service excellence.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing a team, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure high levels of employee engagement and productivity..
- At least 3 years of proficiency in tracking vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and customer bookings.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing customer interactions, preferences, and feedback, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and understand financial statements to ensure the profitability of the agency.
- A track record of successfully managing customer interactions, resolving complaints, and improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and sales techniques specific to the Car Rental industry, including digital marketing, to drive business growth.
- Excellent work ethic and ability to strive for goals.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

- Australian drivers licence essential.
