The Cardiology Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is a major tertiary and quaternary referral centre. We provide a large adult congenital cardiac service and includes a combined congenital cardiac pregnancy service with the Royal Women's Hospital. We have national and international recognition as a leading clinical and research arrhythmia centre. We also have major strengths in interventional coronary, structural and congenital cardiology and cardiac genetics. We provide the state-wide complex lead extraction service, and are affiliated with the University of Melbourne with major teaching and research priorities. We work closely with the large cardiac surgery unit which has major interests in arterial grafting, off-pump bypass, valve repair, aortic and adult congenital surgery.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital Cardiology Service provides a comprehensive suite of ambulatory care and inpatient services co-located at the City (Parkville) campus. Services include:
- Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiology Ward
- Cardiac Investigative Services comprising of 3 suite cardiac catheter labs and Cardiology Day ward
- Non-invasive and diagnostic Cardiology Service
- Outpatient specialty clinics
We are looking for an experienced leader to join our dynamic and passionate team.
Your new role:
- Work collaboratively with the cardiology leadership team to enhance access and flow and efficiency across the department.
- Provide oversight and management of our clinical nurse consultants to develop contemporary nursing models that best support our patients, families and staff.
- Demonstrate your leadership in driving and championing improvement initiatives and strategies.
- Support research across the department, providing support and mentoring to current and future nurse leaders within the service.
About you:
- You have extensive leadership and management experience, with demonstrated success in leading teams and projects for best clinical practice.
- You have experience in developing and/or implementing contemporary and sustainable nursing models of care, creating career pathways for senior cardiology nurses.
- You work and practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of our patients and growing department.
- You hold a post graduate qualification in in Cardiac Care.
