Your new roleWe are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic
Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join the team at our Port Melbourne Hostel as a
Care Manager on a Full-Time basis. Your fortnightly roster will be as follows:Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0700-1506)Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Overseeing the personal care and nursing functions within the Aged Care Home.
- Ensuring that quality care is provided to all residents and that duty of care is met
- Assisting with the development and implementation of detailed personal care plans, assessments and programs as required
- Providing quality services in a manner which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options
- Liaise with doctors, nurses, other health care providers and the pharmacist to facilitate optimum health care and clinical practice for the residents
- Ensure that residents are encouraged to maintain their independence, and provide an environment that encourages residents to maintain lifestyles of their choice.
- Ensure that Quality of Care and Accreditation Standards are met and championed.
What we will need from you:- Enrolled Endorsed Nurse
- Current AHRPA Registration (mandatory)
- Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people
- Experience in gerontology / community / palliative / mental health / alcohol and drugs or related specialty
- Knowledge and skills to perform personal care and clinical tasks
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Keen eye for detail
- Prior experience in homelessness, aged care, welfare, disability, allied health or community care is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
