About the Ward
The Cardiology Liaison Nurse is required to work closely with the Cardiology Co-coordinator as part of the heart team.
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Nurse leader to join the cardiology team as a cardiac Liaison Nurse.
About the role
The cardiac liaision role will continually evaluate the effectiveness of the existing systems and procedures with the aim to continually improve the service.
They will liaise with the cardiology clerical staff to ensure appropriate scheduling of outpatient appointments and diagnostic/ cardiology procedures.
They will triage referrals for clinics and ensure that the services are fully booked, with a focus on limiting cancellations and FTA’s for all appointments and procedures.
They will coordinate, negotiate and manage transitions of care for Cardiology patients providing clinical expertise to several care streams including Chest Pain Assessment and Preadmission Clinics; CTCA and EP programs.

- Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Post graduate critical care qualification relevant to specialty is desirable
- Advanced clinical assessment skills
- Patient-centred approach to evidence based care delivery
- Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
- Demonstrated ability to use clinical information systems
- Ability to problem solve in a variety of complex situations
