Form of workArcadia Pittwater Private Hospital is a 85 bed Medical and Rehabilitation Private Hospital in Warriewood Sydney. We are seeking Career Medical Officers keen to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team. Casual and Part time opportunities available.
The primary role of the CMO is to admit and review patients in liaison with the relevant medical specialists to ensure excellence in care outcomes. Current vacancies are Thursdays, Saturday and Sundays on site, and overnight on calls. Some extra afternoon support shifts available 4-7 pm weekdays
Patient Care & Key Clinical Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care under the supervision of Consultants.
- Communicate with patients about their condition and management, or with their immediate family.
- Ensure effective discharge planning occurs with involvement of the patient, family and/or other care providers;
- Carry phone while on duty and participate in afterhours and weekend rosters. Is contactable and able to return promptly to hospital when on call.
- Organise requests for pathology, radiology and other investigations.
- Communicate and co-ordinate within a multi-disciplinary team in regards to management plans, drug prescriptions, diagnostic requests, consultations and discharge plans which will be reviewed daily.
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 1 year CMO experience
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Australian resident or appropriate working visa
