About the Role
The Careers and Industry Officer provides essential support for career enrichment and work integrated learning programs. They assist in event coordination, administrative tasks, and program promotion to enhance students' career pathways and Industry connections. This is a varied role in a high performing small team and involves collaborating with academic and Industry partners, managing inquiries, and ensuring effective communication and coordination within the team and across various university departments.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Contribute to the design of career enrichment programs and events alongside the Careers and Industry team.
  • Develop and execute event management plans, which may include sourcing and setting up venues, coordination of catering, recruitment of volunteers, preparing AV and technical requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to student queries, and proactively address issues that may arise through program delivery.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with the broader Student and Academic Services team to drive highly visible, high quality, innovative programs.
Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a flexible and proactive approach, as well as excellent communication skills. Additionally, you'll demonstrate the ability to foster belonging and engagement among stakeholders, work effectively both independently and in a team, while also showcasing skills that are desirable for the role.You will also have:
  • A degree qualification or the equivalent combination of relevant experience in event and program management role, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education and/or training.
  • Experience in end-to-end event and program delivery to deliver content and experiences with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible and proactive approach to tasks within a busy work environment and the ability to organise work priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience delivering virtual events and programs.
