About the Carer Gateway Program
Wellways Australia is the first point of contact for all Australian Government Carer Gateway funded services across Queensland, aiming to help Carers access practical information and advice and connect with services in their local area.
Carer supports and services will be delivered using a network of local Carer Gateway regional service providers Carers and those who provide a caring role to someone in their life who has a disability, mental health issue, chronic health condition, terminal illness or are frail-aged.
Your new role
The Carer Engagement Officer is responsible for designing and delivering quality and sustainable information and education sessions to unpaid carers who are accessing the Carer Gateway across Queensland, South West Sydney, and Nepean Blue Mountains
With a mix of creative and lateral thinking this role will demonstrate experience in design, delivery and customer experience. They will be a thought leader in carer support and advance Wellways' vision, purpose, values, and service outcomes for carers, families, and the people they support.
This role will also be responsible for overseeing Wellways Carer Gateway Partners Community Engagement Plans, to support collaborative and effective partnerships to identify new and hidden carers
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Design and deliver structured information and education sessions
- Introduce Carers to Carer Gateway services
- Provide a soft entry point for carers to connect and engage
- Provide information, direction, and support to carers new to navigating Carer Gateway Services and other support networks
- Provide opportunities for carers to engage in skill-based training, to work towards identified needs
- Support partners to work together in the community engagement space
You will also need:
- Qualification in Education, Training, Coaching, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design or similar
- Proven professional experience in training, coaching and/or facilitation of adult learning environment
- Proven working experience in learning design
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Current valid Driver's License
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check (within 12 months)
- QLD Blue Card
- QLD Yellow Card
- Right to Work within Australia
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate - free online module
