What You Will Be Doing
The Mornington Adult Community Mental Health and Intensive Treatment Teams provide community care for people aged 26-64 years who experience Mental Health challenges or distress and require holistic treatment and wellbeing supports.
The Consumer Peer Worker role has been developed specifically for people with a personal experience of Mental Health challenges and recovery to provide holistic support to people accessing Community Mental Health services and supports. Peer Workers are empathetic listeners who promote hope, choice and connection in their relationships with others.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Personal experience of Mental Health challenges or distress and recovery
- Recognition and understanding of own experiences and ability to use this to support consumers
- Ability to use lived/living experience expertise to support the work of the multi-disciplinary team and ensure practice is sensitive to the needs of consumers, families and carers

*Please refer to salary circular for Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2020 -2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have personal experience of Mental Health challenges or distress and recovery?

Essential: Have you completed of Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or similar qualification (or currently undertaking)?
