About the role
Join us in an impactful role as a Care Support Worker, entrusted with the vital responsibility of enhancing statewide carer wellbeing and retention at VACCA. Operating under the guidance of the Carer Coordinator and fueled by the dynamic VACCA carer strategy, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of engaging and supporting carers in a meticulously planned manner. Your efforts will significantly contribute to elevating VACCA's retention of carers and ensuring their overall well-being within the organisation. This involves providing tailored training information, facilitating access to essential support services, and keeping carers informed, empowered, valued, and duly acknowledged.
Collaborating closely with the Carer Coordinator, regional Care and support services programs, and directly with carers, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the VACCA state-wide Carer Support Strategy. This strategy is a proactive response to numerous reports and strategies highlighting the complex challenges faced by carers, ranging from navigating legal processes and court orders to addressing issues within the education system, child protection, and family contact.

Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in education a Certificate IV in Community Services or relevant formal qualifications with significant industry experience are desirable but not essential.
- You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver’s Licence, a current employment Working With Children Check card and a clear National Police Check
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable)
