Carpenter - Home Maintenance

We provide solutions for fencing and small construction and Home Maintenance/repairs. Our business is growing and we are looking for a self starter who can work with our builder and T/A's to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.

Can you build decks and stairs, hang a door, fix or build a fence, place and finish some concrete or any other small job that may need to be done around a clients home? We are looking for a team player to add to our well established and growing Home Maintenance and fencing business. You will need to be able to build or repair decks, verandas, fences and stairs, as well as other odd building/carpentry tasks required around a clients home. You will have excellent planning skills and have the ability to give clear directions to TA's to ensure timely and efficient completion of works.

• Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
• Builds and installs fences and gates out of timber, aluminium or clorbond steel
• Installs balustrades in steel, aluminium or glass
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Studies specifications in sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.

• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 4-year experience in construction, carpentry, or fencing is required
• Physically fit and good hand dexterity required
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer satisfaction skills
• Trade qualified preferred but experienced handyperson considered
