About the role
The cartage transport team is the last line of the international supply chain for your clients cargo and warrants people with better than average people skills in terms of building rapport and relationships with not only your clients, but the carriers, lines and internal departments to allow a smooth process. Covering all sea freight cartage (FCL, LCL), as well as some air when things get busy or people away.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Covering all LCL & FCL cartage
- Liaising with internal departments on the daily
- Liaising with carriers, suppliers and clients
- Checking customs status on all jobs
- Time slot bookings for wharf cartage through transport companies
- Making sure job is profitable once completed
Skills & Experience
- Freight Forwarding experience
- Cartage exposure
- Cargowise/CW1, desirable
- Strong written, verbal and in person skills
- Negotiation skills
- AU Customs understating
