Your new role
In this 12 Month Contract you will play a key support role, in our newly formed Bereavement Centre, by efficiently meeting the team's service deliverables and supporting the evolution of the team's operating model with its key partners. You will be tasked with case managing a death claims portfolio from notification through to payment. We promote a 'call first' culture dedicated to building strong relationships with the claimants and expediating the payments of our member's death benefits.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Be a first point of contact for claimants and guide them through the claims process.
- Ensure that the claims register is accurately maintained and that all claimants are advised of reasons for decisions.
- Lead the review and manage death claim distribution through case management from notification to payment.
- Support the team in responding to internal and external insurance claim queries and complaints so that insurance claims matters are processed efficiently.
- Lead the operational management of unclaimed monies process Ie. Review, approve and sign requests to transfer accounts to unclaimed monies(Commissioner of Taxation)so that insurance claims cases can be closed.
- Engage and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and service providers such as Administrators and insurance providers, to build positive working relationships.
- Ensure that the Insurance Claims team appropriately contribute to the ongoing provision of all Member Operations services and service standards required by other Fund Domains.
What you'll need
- Relevant experience in a similar role (with an administrator or in superannuation insurance)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to proofread, spelling & English grammar skills.
- Advanced use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks according to priority.
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in performance.
- Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively without supervision and to set own work plan to meet deadlines.
