About the Team
The Aged Care Transition plays an important part in the lives of clients who move from living independently into an age care setting. The team supports clients transitioning into Age Care, working through their assets, complex client scenarios, including supporting investigations into financial elder abuse and misappropriation, negotiating client entry fees and working with Centrelink to ensure the client is correctly assessed.
About the Role
Internally known as a Personal Financial Consultant, you will provide personal and tailored support to help individuals who, due to disability, illness or injury and are unable to manage their financial and legal affairs and have been appointed by VCAT.
This is an ideal role to demonstrate your exceptional multi-tasking and prioritisation skills combined with the ability to problem solve and make decisions.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in Aged Care sector, community service, financial administration, human or social services
- Understanding and experience dealing with elderly clients, clients with a disability and vulnerable clients
- Experience or knowledge in Aged Care placement, fees, structures, and legislation
- Experience or knowledge in Aged Care placement process and fees thresholds
- Familiarity with Aged Care Act 1997 and legislative requirements
- Well-developed professional communication skills
- Understanding and experience dealing with clients with a disability
- Competent financial literacy
- Basic computer literacy including competent use of Microsoft Office
