Find out more and .Your OpportunityMission Australia STAR Program provides support and intensive case management for young people and their families that are involved, or at risk of being involved in, the criminal justice system with the aim to prevent re-offending and improve community safety.Your key responsibilities will be to:Respond to referrals of clients and their families across Mareeba, Atherton and Herberton.Provide outreach to approximately 10 clients and their families.Engage with young people and families to create holistic and strength-based individualised support plans utilising SMART goals.Facilitate group workshops and coaching sessions including the lifechanging 16 week “Deadly Me” program.Provide ongoing support and positive engagement to assist young people to achieve their goals.Requirements for SuccessExtensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and a solid knowledge of their societies and cultures.Experience supporting young people in a trauma informed and culturally appropriate way.Relevant qualifications and/or experience working with young people with complex issues.Experience in trauma informed case management with young peopleSolid experience creating reports including activity reports and case studiesWork with team members to complete and review case plans, safety plans and risk assessmentsManage own workload and provide guidance and mentorship to other employeesCurrent Queensland Drivers Licence.Valid QLD Blue Card.We are strongly encouraging people who identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our cultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.We’re committed to the safety and wellbeing of each other and the people we serve.
