Evolve Psychology Sunshine Coast is a boutique psychology practice aiming to provide the highest level of quality and care to its clients. We promote the health and well being of both clients and staff including an emphasis on work life balance. The clinic has a Therapy Dog who will participate in sessions with clients as well as spending some time with the admin staff in the waiting area. We aim to be inclusive of diverse individuals and environmentally friendly. We have been open for over a year and have a thriving practice of 6 part-time Psychologists. The location will be in the new Forest Glen Village precinct near the new IGA in a modern building with plenty of natural light and within walking distance to medical, shops, cafes, chemist, and plenty of onsite parking.
We are ideally looking for a Psychology/Counselling/Social Work student who would like to join our support team and gain experience in the industry.
The position is casual, initially 1 day per week with a 7 hour shift on a Wednesday from 10am-5pm with the option of taking on additional shifts based on the needs of the clinic.
Qualifications & experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is necessary to the role.
- Excellent technology skills such as an ability to learn the clinic software (Powerdiary) is necessary to the role.
- Skills in customer service and a sensitivity towards vulnerable individuals is required for the role.
- A willingness (and ideally enthusiasm) to work in an environment with a Therapy Dog is necessary to the role.
- The ability to be reliable, punctual, responsible, and a mature attitude is necessary to the role.
- Being a highly organised and an efficient individual and able to problem solve and multi-task is necessary to the role.
- Willing to perform light cleaning around the office such as watering plants, emptying the dishwashing, and vacuuming when needed.
- A flexible person who is able to work independently as well as part of the administrative team.
- Experience in health/medical administration is desirable however training will be provided to the right candidate.
- University students studying Psychology/Counselling/Social Work are highly encouraged to apply (given you have availability on Wednesdays to start with).
Tasks & responsibilities
- Manage email and phone enquiries, book new client appointments, and manage the waitlist.
- Use the online Software program (Powerdiary) to manage all aspects of the clinic's administrative tasks.
- Greet clients at the front desk, take payments and process Medicare/health insurance rebates.
- Support Psychologists with administrative tasks such as sending invoices, letters, filing, and shredding.
- In addition to these administrative duties you will also be needed to provide basic care to the clinic Therapy Dog (such as providing water and taking out for toilet breaks) once or twice per day.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality including the safe and responsible management of sensitive and private information.
- Ensure all client invoices are paid in a timely manner and following up payment when needed.
- Light cleaning of reception, kitchen and toilet area and watering plants.
