Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work under general direction in the application of policy & procedures, work practices and guidelines of the organisations and specific program requirements.
- Manage and plan own work and that of volunteers.
- Address the causes of homelessness by providing case management support to young people and their families. Causes may include, domestic violence, intergenerational disadvantage, and criminality, and mental health, economic and social exclusion.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with local community organisations, Department of Child Safety, Department of Youth Justice.

Qualification and Experience:
- Relevant Degree with one year relevant experience in working with young people or
- Associate Diploma with relevant experience or
- Less formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience or
- Equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake a range of activities
Organisational Core Requirements
- Holder of a suitability for working with children’s card. (blue card) - No card No work
- Positive Police Check
- Current driver’s licence
- Demonstrated understanding of youth and social justice issues, and the service delivery required to support and develop young people and their families.
Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of Child Protection and Residential Tenancy Act
- Demonstrated experience in liaising and working collaboratively and effectively with Government departments, community agencies and service providers.
- High degree of competency in oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and consult with, and disseminate information to individual and groups of diverse backgrounds in a manner which is sensitive to cultural differences
- Demonstrated skills in case management principles, frameworks to develop and implement case plans developed with young people
- Proven ability to work independently within program and organisational guidelines, prioritise work tasks and manage varied program responsibilities within given timeframes
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in working in the child protection service systems
- Demonstrated experience in the use of on line data base collection systems
Aptitude:
- Proven capacity to work with minimal supervision, to work, at times, under pressure and to cope with stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a professional, and ethical manner, particularly with regard to accountabilities, client confidentiality and duty of care issues.
