The Role
Reporting to the Head Chef, we are seeking a qualified chef to join our kitchen team on a casual or full-time basis. We are looking for a professional, creative and hardworking individual with proven experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- The ability to work cohesively in a small team;
- Manage time through effective planning to maintain a high level of productivity;
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Motivate team members through positive behaviour;
- High standards of food presentation, cleanliness, punctuality and organisation; and
- Participate in and reinforce the organisation of cost controlling and waste management of food.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery completed;
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures;
- Previous experience in a busy hotel or restaurant;
- Motivated, disciplined and a strong passion for food;
- The ability to communicate effectively with team members; and
- Understanding of industry standard hygiene practices.
