A position is available for a Casual Farm Hand on a family-owned cropping enterprise at Walgett in north-western NSW. The farm produces dry land and irrigated rotational crops and cotton.
Your duties include GPS tractor driving, spraying, siphon irrigation, mechanical servicing and repairs and general farm maintenance.
To be successful you will need a couple of years previous experience operating cropping tractors for paddock preparation and spraying, siphon irrigation, mechanical servicing and repair, general farm maintenance skills, a manual driver’s licence, and your own vehicle. Additionally, you must be able to work unsupervised, demonstrate high attention to detail in your work and show an active interest in crop growth as the season unfolds.
The position pays an hourly casual rate and can become ongoing for the right person. Furnished, air-conditioned accommodation including electricity and reliable mobile phone reception are on farm. Walgett is just 10 minutes away and offers access to childcare, kindergarten to high school, new modern supermarket, healthcare, and recreational activities including Walgett public swimming pool and a brand-new gym. Work is available in the local area for a partner. Pets are by negotiation.
