The Role
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School is seeking experienced and committed Canteen Assistants to join the School Canteen at our Middle Schools (Years 7 -10), Keilor East campus in casual positions, assisting with the production, preparation, service and sale of food and beverages and canteen cleaning duties.
We currently have casual positions available, working hours between 8am to 2pm on weekdays, during term times only, when students are in attendance.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, experience in food services and preparation (sandwich making experience preferable) and cash handling, and have a certificate in food safety handling and first aid, or willingness to complete training prior to commencement. An ability to work additional hours as required would be of benefit.
Applicants are also required to:
- demonstrate their commitment to student safety care and wellbeing, including a commitment to child safety, demonstrating an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children with diverse needs and backgrounds
- hold permanent Australian residency or a work visa
- hold a valid and current employee Working With Children Check and be eligible to work in Australia
