The responsibilities and duties of a kitchen hands, cooks and assistants in canteen’s can vary greatly on experience and the unique needs of the current role and for each school location.
I have created a shortlist of the most common duties you would be responsibilities for, they are;
- Serving food and interacting with customers
- Cooking and/or assisting with cooking and preparation of cold and hot foods
- keep food preparation areas clean
- clean kitchen equipment and appliances
- clean benchtops, floors, ovens and ranges
- receive, lift, handle and store food deliveries
- retrieve food items as requested by chefs
- assist with food preparation
- wash dishes, pots and utensils
- ensure working areas are kept clear
- throw rubbish out

MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN AUSTRALIA
MUST HAVE BASIC FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE
Hours are flexible and can be discussed in person. MUST be able to work between the hours of 7 am and 2 pm.
