AddressYCSS is a licensed, fee-for-service organisation providing specialist wrap-around support to children, young people, and families. We deliver support through our specialist therapeutic programs – Youth Konnections, Keeping Kids at Home (KKAT) and Quality Connection Counselling (QCC).

About the Role
You will provide a high standard of practical support through therapeutic programs for Children and Young People aged between 5 – 17 living in Residential Out-of-Home Care who may display challenging and complex behaviours.
Care Facilitators will utilise therapeutic professional parenting care which includes support through daily routines, education, recreational lifestyle support, capacity building, home maintenance and hygiene.
About You
You are resilient, confident, and able to maintain self-awareness when dealing with a high level of challenging and complex behaviours, historical trauma and reactive attachment disorder.
To be Successful you will
- Hold a Certificate IV or above in a Human Services, Community Services, Youth Services, or related field (Please refer to DCYJMA Minimum Qualification Standards for all Residential Care staff in Queensland) OR be enrolled and have commenced study
- Current Blue Card OR ability to obtain
- First Aid (Valid for 3 Years) and CPR (Valid for 12 Months) OR ability to obtain
- Unrestricted Queensland Driver Licence
- You MUST have a reliable Registered Motor Vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (Vehicle will need to be a minimum of a 4-door sedan to be able to safely transport children and young people if required)
- Hope & Healing Certificate OR ability to complete
- Ability to complete and pass a Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women - Licensed Care Service Criminal History screening check – LCS2/LCS7 (Please note that this check can take up to 4 weeks to be processed)
The successful applicant must have availability to work varying shifts including Afternoons, Sleepovers, Weekends and Public Holidays.
Shift times and locations vary across our Western Suburbs & Ipswich placements – Bellbird Park to Yamanto as a general indication.
There will also be capacity for you to pick up additional shifts at our North Brisbane placements if you’re willing to travel – Kallangur to Caboolture.
Highly Desirable
• You have proven experience working with Children, Young People and Families with complex needs, challenging behaviours and a history of trauma
• Experience working in a Residential Out-of-Home care setting (Child Safety)
• Experience working with complex Mental Health issues
• Hope & Healing for Residential Care Certificate
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Training
• Youth/Mental Health First Aid
