In-home and community support
Kyabra Community Association Inc. is a community-based organisation that is committed to strengthening individual, family and community life.
We are currently seeking reliable, creative and dedicated Support Workers to be the forefront of Kyabra working with our NDIS participants. You need to be passionate about working independently alongside people with a disability, forming connections and recognising their strengths to assist them to achieve their goals as outlined in their NDIS plan.
Support is provided both in the individual’s home and in the community and may include assisting people with:
- Personal care;
- Household chores;
- Meal Preparation;
- Community support (shopping, running errands) and linking to activities of their choice;
- Helping with all aspects of their lives to enable them to live as independently as possible.
Specifically, our ideal workers are:
- Reliable, flexible and have the ability to work a variety of shifts including 2 hour morning, evening and weekend shifts.
- Available to work at least 25 hours per week with the flexibility of covering additional shifts.
- Willing to demonstrate the values and beliefs of Kyabra while working in a frontline capacity.
- Great communicators with the ability to work alongside a diverse range of individuals, and work collaboratively with your support team to ensure we are working together towards common goals.
- Willingness to apply the Kyabra values in your work.
- Epilepsy training.
- Completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
- Roadworthy/registered/appropriate vehicle to transport Participants.
- Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- First Aid and CPR is mandatory prior to commencing work.
