Carinity Education – Southside is an independent special assistance girl’s school providing secondary education, vocational training and mentoring for students in Years 7 – 12, many of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Students are treated with unconditional positive regard at all times. Many of the young women are from backgrounds of trauma, abuse and neglect, and have complex needs.

About the role
The role is on a casual basis. The Youth Worker – Learning Support provides support to teaching staff by working with students in the classroom, supporting their learning as well as their social emotional development.
What do I need for the role?
- Possession of Certificate III (or higher) in either Youth Work, Education Support or relevant discipline qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in providing support to marginalised young people, particularly those who have been victims of abuse, neglect, substance abuse and/or self-harm.
- Ability to relate to youth from different backgrounds to build positive, professional relationships.
- Willingness to obtain a LR licence to drive a 25-seated bus (highly desirable)
- Willingness to drive a Minibus
