About the Position:
The City is involved in a range of sustainability and natural area management initiatives that are designed to protect, preserve and conserve our environment. The Catchment Management Officer ensures the provision of specialist environmental management advice to improve the water quality of the river and catchment areas and deliver environmental monitoring and reporting programs. The role also involves project management of erosion control works and water sensitive urban design projects. You will have the opportunity to be part of many exciting projects including taking the lead in implementing Waterwise Bayswater 2030 and future blue-green projects.
About the Person:
The successful applicant will have previous experience and knowledge of environmental water sampling and analysis, have a high level of understating of Catchment Management principles and project management. They will have strong research and report writing skills and the ability to project manage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential in order to effectively liaise with team members and the community. They will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science or equivalent and the ability to obtain a Working with Children’s check.
