As the Category Analyst, you will support the Category Development Leaders in the implementation of the Category Vision & strategy on shelf through reporting, building content for range reviews & owning end-to-end planogram development and analysis. This role will also work closely with the Head of Perfect Store, visualising our Pictures of Success in line with the Mars Wrigley Merchandising Must Haves, so that we have a clear ambition on how we can drive category growth from the shelf into the future.
Reporting to the Head of Category Development, and based in Melbourne, in a hybrid working model, this role will have accountability and ownership of the short- and long- term macro and micro space strategies by effectively and efficiently designing layout solutions that execute against the Category Growth plan.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of working and delivering results in a blue chip FMCG/ CPG organisation.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data from a mix of data sources and translate insights into relevant strategies and tactics

- Experience of Assortment Planning and Space Planning beneficial, especially Space Planning Plus (JDA) or Apollo (Metiri Mensus) software.
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Analyse segment, customer and channel trends and performance to identify future growth opportunities and formulate appropriate recommendations, ensuring sustainable category growth
- Create Shopper and Customer Centric Planogram proposals for customer range reviews that deliver a positive 3 Way Win solution, and are compliant to retailer parameters.
- Work with Category Development Managers and Sales teams to inform and align on linear space and range objectives and provide the analysis of Pre- and Post-range review outcomes focusing on incremental gains (or loss) of linear Share and Share of Choice
- Work with the Head of Perfect Store & the Category Strategy team to provide the Macro and Micro space recommendations that inform Aisle of the Future and Store of the Future initiatives
- Maintain a central library of product images, including product dimensions and historical and current planograms. Saved centrally to enable access for all associates.
- Utilise JDA software to deliver relevant reporting suites including but not limited to Category Share by customer in line with Sales to identify fair share growth opportunities.
