Reporting to the Head of Category Development, and working alongside our Category Development Lead for Grocery, this role is responsible for analyzing segment-level trends and performance to identify future growth opportunities and formulate appropriate recommendations for our Grocery customers. There will be a deliberate focus on current in market performance to an 18-month time horizon.
The Grocery Category Analyst will support the Category Development Leader in the implementation of the Category Vision & Strategy with reporting, range reviews, planograms, planning sessions and CGIs by investigating & answering key hypotheses. This role will also have significant interaction with our internal Coles & Woolworths customer teams, as well as with our external contacts at those retailers.
What are we looking for?
Business Graduate with experience in a blue chip FMCG/CPG business with category & customer understanding and analytical skills
Experience of working and delivering results in a blue chip FMCG/ CPG organisation.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data from a mix of data sources and translate insights into relevant strategies and tactics (actions / initiatives) and execute with our customers in a clear, simple and engaging way.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Analyse segment, customer & channel trends, and performance to identify future growth opportunities and formulate appropriate recommendations, ensuring sustainable category growth
Develop and deliver relevant periodic reporting and analysis to underpin the category leadership agenda; lead the advancement of our reporting utilising automation & predictive analytics tools
Work with the Category Development Leader to build understanding of the shopper, channel & customer trends and quantify category drivers and platforms to inform prioritisation of growth opportunities
Support Category Development Leader with store level analysis on customers & strategic test and learns utilising tools such as Nielsen, Quantium & Synergy
Responsible for range and assortment analysis needed for customer range reviews and for the creation of planograms based on assortment performance, PQA, MMH & PICOFS embedded in our Perfect Store program
