Our Opportunity
The Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist will provide support to the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) Lead responsible for leading a project and/or region, and in so doing managing key elements of C&P deliverables including developing contract strategies, tenders, contract execution, delivery and close out.

Key Responsibilities
- Support in the development of robust contract strategies for projects in co-ordination with the Projects team covering the life cycle of a project from scoping, through pre-feasibility, feasibility, execution, close-out and ;
- Develop, coordinate and evaluate tender packages for Works, Capital Equipment and services
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions, to support project schedule and budget
- Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established Project Controls and Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures
- Develop well written, well-structured procurement documentation that supports the project requirements
- Support/Lead on proactive performance and relationship management as well as dispute avoidance. Where necessary, dispute resolution including claims assessment and development of resolution strategy
- Identify and maximize cost saving opportunities
- Provide reports, analyses and advice to support procurement decision-making
- Identify and evaluate key risks at a contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (e.g. technical, legal etc.)
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organizational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information
- Contract administration to support execution, including correspondence and contract notices and claims assessment
- Work as part of the team to deliver value through competitive sourcing and effective contract management.

Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in Contracts within mining or similar heavy industries preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple packages
- High level written skills with excellent attention to detail
- Extremely well developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, law, or construction desirable.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple work packages.
- Respectful manner with others.
- Management skills
- Understands the importance of stakeholder relationships and can engage effectively with engineers, legal, quality management, project controls and logistics to co-ordinate and ensure contractual delivery parameters are met.
