About the Role
The Category Management team is the largest group within the Procurement & Contract Management branch and is responsible to manage the full lifecycle of goods, services, technology and works contracts across the Port’s diverse infrastructure, fleet, equipment, facilities, professional services and technology segments. Reporting to the Senior Category & Commercial Manager, the Category Manager Facilities will drive strategic sourcing, client engagement, supplier performance management and spend management for their category in support of the Ports’ overall objective to deliver a safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable supply chain capacity.
About You
You will be a hands-on individual with strengths in strategic sourcing, managing and negotiating with suppliers. Stakeholder management experience to support the technical procurement skills would be well regarded. The ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and strong influencing skills whilst supporting stakeholders through change, is considered critical to success in the role.
Whilst a working knowledge of Facilities Management and/or services procurement and contract management is desirable, the ability to build internal and external relationships is key to the success of this role. Demonstrated interpersonal, relationship management and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise, consult and coach effectively is therefore essential.
Other essential criteria include:
- Tertiary qualification and/or commercial experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Strategic Procurement, Commerce, Business Administration) or progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated commercial experience in the planning, development and/or management of high risk, complex contracts to meet strategic and operational business needs within a complex organisation.
