Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Design and develop diverse menus for both Catering and cafe services, considering customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients.
Food Preparation & Cost: Execute high-quality food preparation for both small and large-scale events, ensuring consistency, flavour, and presentation are of the highest standard. Control food costs while upholding the quality of food served.
Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Catering Events: Plan and execute catering events, collaborating with clients to customize menus, and ensuring a seamless experience from preparation to presentation.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the freshness, taste, and safety of all food items.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
Customer Interaction: Engage with customers in the cafe, addressing their inquiries, and obtaining feedback to continually improve our offerings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of proven experience as a Head Chef.
- Demonstrated ability in effective kitchen management.
- Proficiency in delegating responsibilities and monitoring progress.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Updated knowledge of culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
- Familiarity with computer programs like MS Office, restaurant management software, and POS systems.
- Credentials in health and safety training.
- Proficient in bulk cooking, modern café food, Fine-Dine food and food handling techniques.
- Knowledge of buffet food presentations and food refreshing practices.
- Experience working with modern kitchen equipment.
- Background in corporate catering, modern sit-down pre plated Catering and buffet catering is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of cooking, holding, and storing temperatures.
- Good knowledge of various cuisines, including Mediterranean, Indian, Asian, French, Italian etc.
- A degree in Culinary Science or a related certificate.
- Adhere to nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
- Foster a cooperative and respectful work environment among co-workers.
