AusAG Rural has the pleasure of recruiting a Station Couple for our clients who own a cattle property within 30 kilometers from the Central Queensland township of Rolleston. Rolleston is a thriving rural community located 45 minutes southeast of Springsure on the Dawson Highway, 1.45 hours north of Injune on the Carnarvon Highway and 3 hours southwest of Rockhampton – the beef capital of Australia! The property is located on the banks of the Comet River and the district is renowned for its thriving pastoral industry, supplying locals with a range of goods and services.
Positions now exist for a Station Hand and Domestic / Gardener to join this family-owned cattle enterprise. The successful candidates within both roles will report to the Station Manager on site. Positions descriptions are following:
Station Hand:
The Station Hand will be involved with mustering and yard work as well as general property maintenance and machinery operating as required. Ideally, prior experience working cattle and the ability to ride a motorbike and / or horse will be viewed favourably as will those applicants with advanced yard work experience. Fencing and other general property maintenance will be required.
Domestic / Gardener:
The Domestic / Gardener’s duties will include the maintenance and upkeep of the sprawling country homestead gardens by way of mowing, edging, weeding and tree trimming. General cleaning will be required within the main homestead and staff quarters in addition to a minimal amount of cooking for other staff members from time to time. Ideally the successful candidate will present with some experience within a similar position and have a desire to live and work on a rural property.
The successful Station Couple will enjoy living and working on the picturesque station to the southwest of Rolleston. Couple accommodation is a private, two-bedroom donga building that is suitable for a couple only – it will not fit a family. Animals are strictly by negotiation and should be disclosed upon interview.
