This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.
You have demonstrated experience in medical terminology and have the ability to use information technology are proficient in both written and verbal communication skills.
You are naturally curious and have a thirst for learning and have either demonstrated experience as a Clinical Nurse Consultant
You enjoy working as part of a team and have a focus on developing key relationships in a multi-disciplinary team.
What you'll be doing
The position of Clinical Nurse Consultant - Aged Care Inpatient Services, exists within the Central Coast Local Health District (Division of NSW Health Service).
The position will facilitate improvements in the clinical care of patients needing Rehabilitation in acute, subacute and/or continuing care across all CCLHD facilities
Responsibilities will include the provision of clinical advice to patients, carers, health professionals and consumers, the review of clinical practice, education, local research and change management and liaison with all services involved in the care of aged persons.
Aged Care and Sub Acute Services across 3 sites
The CNC Rehab will:
Progress the transfer of evidence into clinical practice. This will involve participation in research and analysis of clinical evidence.
Foster the professional development of nurses through the practice development framework and specialty education.
Support initiatives in the provision of care for patients requiring Rehabilitation as well as providing a nursing consultative service to a variety of health professionals, patients and carers.
Contribute to the planning processes relating to the delivery of efficient, effective and safe nursing care.
Provide clinical leadership relating to the care of patients requiring rehabilitation within the CCLHD.
Works collaboratively with all CNCs with particular consideration of workload.

About You

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the position specialty and approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the position specialty field or other such qualifications or experience deemed appropriate and hold a current drivers licence.
You have a demonstrated ability to provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of evidenced based clinical practice and ability to work within the frameworks of acute and primary health care service delivery models autonomously and as part of a team.
You have advanced clinical problem solving capacity and ability to transfer this knowledge and skill to other clinicians including highly effective communication skills applicable to a wide range of settings.
