About You

  • You hold recognized tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management and meet the criteria for membership with HIMAA or have extensive relevant coding experience.
  • You possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through effective team management and proficiency in drafting operational instructions, briefs, and business correspondence.
  • You have a thorough understanding of ICD-10-AM / ACHI and ACS coding classifications, with recent experience in Clinical Coding, auditing, and using related software.
Where you'll be workingAs the District Clinical Coding Manager, you will be directly responsible for the leadership and effective daily management of a large team of Clinical Coders, Auditors and Educators (working both on-site and remotely), to ensure that Activity Based Management and NSW Health reporting requirements are met. 

As well as developing and leading the strategic direction of all Clinical Coding activities, the role provides expert advice; exchanges information; develops, presents and facilitates education; oversees the coding audit program; negotiates and consults on a wide range of coding issues with both internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure your team is robust, well-educated and maintains a high level coding quality and accuracy.

Based at Gosford Hospital, this role requires regular travel across the Central Coast District.
