Cement Laboratory Technician

The roleAdbri Cement have multiple opportunities in our NATA accredited laboratory division for enthusiastic candidates who are keen to up-skill and try something new based in our Cement Plant in Birkenhead, SAThis entry level, permanent, full-time opportunity, you will conduct compliance testing of construction materials relevant to the cement manufacturing process.The role requires availability from Monday to Friday with a rotating weekend roster, working some Saturdays 7am till 11am at overtime rates.As recognition for your efforts, you will receive a structured and supported onboarding experience and the opportunity to gain experience in a construction materials laboratory with a leading, Australian company with potential for career progression.Please note that this role does require some physical movement and lifting.This role offers variety, working on the below rotations. You will receive full training in the below :Sample Prep: Preparing all samples for testing through such techniques as riffling, drying, crushing, grinding and weighing and registering all testing samples in the Laboratory Data Management System.Mortar Testing: Testing the strength, shrinkage and sulfate resistance characteristics as well as the temperature rise, setting time and soundness determinations of cement, fly ash, slag and lime materials.Concrete Making and Testing: Making concrete to the Australian standard to investigate and test the strength, shrinkage, setting times, bleed, air content, mass per unit volume.Chemical Laboratory: Testing all materials for varied chemical characteristics.What you will need to succeedPass a medical including a drug & alcohol test.National Police check.A commitment to safety, quality, and the environment.Strong communication skills.Comfortable working autonomously and within a small team.Strong literacy and computer skills.Ability to apply initiative.Benefits of working with usStructured onboardingSupported training planForklift LicenceEmployee benefits: From discounts on everyday essentials to a range of perks, we make a difference with our wide array of benefits.
