Central Despatch Manager

The role As the Central Despatch Manager at our Thebarton site, you will manage our customers' workload to ensure their requirements are met and their orders are delivered in full, on time, every time, across the Adelaide Concrete Market.Reporting to the General Manager, you will be working as part of a friendly team who will help you learn about our products and systems. If you have a passion for customer service and a talent for problem solving and prioritising workload, this is the opportunity for you!We're looking for someone with lots of energy, who is skilled at juggling competing priorities and meeting deadlines while delivering great customer service.Responsibilities Identifying and delivering flexible and effective allocations and service opportunities while managing competing prioritiesFollow up and resolve delivery issues and manage customer expectationsDetermine and arrange the daily schedule and vehicle requirements according to volume and customer needs and optimal fleet utilisationInvestigate, resolve and respond to internal queries and customer complaintsComply with driver Fatigue Management, Statutory requirements and Company Health and SafetyOversee CSO team and ensure effective order scheduling and allocations to maximise volume, profitability and customer service.Liaising with the Sales, Operations and Logistics teams.Ensure all tasks are completed correctly and in a timely mannerSome after hours on-call duties requiredWhat you will need to succeed Sound knowledge of Adelaide Metropolitan and Regional areasBe able to work within a busy team environment and thrive on working with people at all levelsFriendly, customer service-oriented dispositionAbility to communicate with managers and operatives at all levelsBe a proven team player across organisational linesAbility to meet deadlines and work well under pressureAbility to work autonomouslyFlexibility, with the ability to attend to several issues at the same timeExperience working in the transport industry (preferred but not essential)Knowledge of basic OH&S obligations and requirements (desirable, training will be provided)An understanding of CoR requirements (desirable, training will be provided)Experience working in the concrete or building industry (desirable) Our businessAdbri Concrete is a market leader in the supply of premixed concrete, aggregates, road base, sands, specialty products and agricultural lime to the South Australian building, construction and infrastructure industries.Adbri Concrete is a fully owned entity fully owned entity of Adbri Limited; a constructions materials and industrial minerals manufacturing company that has been building a better Australia since 1882.
