The Fern ELC Cheltenham is opening soon and we are looking for an experienced Centre Director to lead the team at our newest location. The Fern ELC Cheltenham is a 120 place architecturally designed building with 6 rooms. The Fern ELC Cheltenham is owned by i9 Education.
i9 Education is a family-owned company with 12 Centres in operation in Victoria. i9 Education has our Head Office located in Victoria and has a strong Operations and Head Office team to support you in your role as a Centre Director.
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the centre including rostering, tours, enrolments, accounts, social media and all administrative work while ensuring compliance is maintained in line with The National Law, National Regulations and National Quality Standards. You will be supported by our Educational Coordinator and our Operations Support Team. An administration assistant will be hired to support you in your role as occupancy increases.
Qualification, experience and knowledge requirements for role:
- Minimum of Diploma of Children’s Services qualification required
- Current First Aid qualification including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
- Knowledge and understanding of National Law, National Regulations, National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework (standard and Victorian), Being belonging & becoming framework and My Time Our Place (if school aged child attend service)
- Proven ability to lead, guide, support, mentor and supervise a team
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use various IT platforms including, but not limited to, QikKids and KindyHub
- Professional presentation always representing the company values and philosophy
- Current First Aid qualification including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
- Current drivers Licence
- Current Police Check less than 6 months old
- Current Working with Children Check (employee)
- To have completed Child Safe accredited Training
- Food Safety Supervisor qualification
Position Objectives:
- To manage the successful day to day operational needs of a Long Day Care Service
- To ensure the provision of a quality Early Education and care service in accordance with the aims, objectives and philosophies of the service and the Area Management Team
- To provide a nurturing and stimulating environments for all children
- To have the ability to supervise, support and evaluate educators, employees and students
- To work with and support educators in the provision and implementation of a high-quality curriculum
- To liaise with other local community organisations whose objectives are compatible with those of the service for continued improvements, guidance and centre improvements
- To offer support, guidance and relevant community services support to families and children
- To have highly developed organisational skills
- To have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- To document continuous improvements and achievements in the Centre Quality Improvement Plan
