The Venue:

Whistling Kite has been challenging the concept of the 'Traditional Suburban Pub' for 10 years since opening its doors in 2009.  With an ethos focused centrally around delivering an experience to the customer we believe that great food is essential in the development of any good business.

As part of a growing stable of unique and high profile establishments, this venue is a go to in the area.  This is a creative role that will see you have input into the direction and success of the menu offering. This is an opportunity to join a growing group and continue to learn from industry professionals.

The Role:

As a member of our team you will help oversee the development of both the menu, the direction of the cuisine, and our people to ensure continued growth and recognition for the venue and its crew.  You will need to be actively involved in the daily running of the kitchen as well as stepping into the Sous Chef role in their absence. A sound knowledge of financials and rostering is desired but can be devleoped, a passion for the industry you work within is a non negotiable.

Ideal Qualities we seek include:

• A creative background in restaurant and pub environments
• Good knowledge of kitchen operations and hygiene
• Are able to work autonomously and in a team to focus on consistency and quality
• Great communication skills with teams, management and guests alike
• Knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP ideal
• Are able to train, develop and mentor younger team members
