Joining Eschalot will see you working closely with the senior Chefs maintaining our high standards whilst keeping our creative flair. Our team is hardworking and supportive, Eschalot has a reputation for retaining staff for the long-term.
About the role
We are looking for a fully qualified chef or pastry chef with a particular interest in paddock to plate, modern Australian cuisine. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to:
- vastly expand their skill set by working with highly experienced chefs in an innovative and creative environment
- assist with kitchen garden planning, collecting produce and learning how to plan menus based around the seasons
- work as part of a team with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and mental health, promoting inclusiveness and connection
We'd love to hear from you if you are dedicated, honest and reliable, have a notable, evidenced passion for food and cooking, whist being receptive to learning and developing your skills.
Successful applicants will demonstrate:
- excellent trade skills
- effective communication
- an ability to work within a team
- a strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
- a clear understanding of kitchen etiquette
- experience in Modern Australian cuisine
- Qualifications such as Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- An understanding of food safety and hygiene - with a food safety certificate
- Balanced lifestyle in an iconic country setting

- Salary $70,000 per annum
