Chef Manager

The Role:

Cater Care Australia seeks to appoint a Permanent Chef Manager with leadership experience at our Hospital site in Warriewood. As a Chef Manager, you will oversee the culinary operations and manage the kitchen staff within our organization. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality food production, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and leading a team of culinary professionals. You will blend culinary expertise with managerial skills to deliver exceptional dining experiences and contribute to the overall success of our food service operations.

Roster:  Monday to Thursday 5.30 to 2.00 pm / Friday Admin Day 5.30 to 2.00pm  

What This Role Involves:

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Creative approach to menu planning and food presentation.
• Cost Control: Monitor food and labor costs to meet budgetary guidelines. Implement efficient kitchen processes to minimize waste .
• Food Production: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Kitchen Management: Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and equipment maintenance.
• Staff Supervision: Lead and mentor kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and assistants. Provide training, set performance standards, and ensure adherence to recipes and procedures.
• Hygiene and Safety: Uphold strict hygiene, health, and safety standards in compliance with regulations. Monitor kitchen cleanliness, food storage, and waste management practices.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Experience with managing labour, food & operational costs 
• Previous experience in operating kitchens and/or site management
• Strong communication skills
• Pride in personal appearance & hygiene
