Located in one of the most remote and beautiful regions of Western Australia, our eco lodges are a special somewhere to stay for our fully escorted 4WD wilderness adventures or for self-drive holiday makers.
With three lodges strategically positioned around the Kimberley, they allow guests to experience five star treatment while they sleep under a million stars. Running like a mini hotel, the lodges offer glamps with ensuite, three-course fine dining dinners each night, breakfast buffet and an outback bar. The role of the Lodge Chef/Cook is to ensure our luxury lodges continue to provide an unwavering commitment to an exceptional customer experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lodge Chef/Cook you will be responsible for:
- Following a specially designed menu for our discerning guests:
- Deliver a well prepared and presented three course evening meal
- Prepare ingredients for our lodge hosts to assemble guest lunches
- Bake daily fresh bread to serve with dinners
- Providing lodge staff with meals
- Overseeing the correct storage of food and maintaining a clean kitchen in line with the environmental procedures of our Eco-Accredited lodges
- Overseeing the food ordering and the delivery of food and stores
- Training of Lodge staff on food preparation and how to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensuring the safety of all staff and guests and comply with OHS legislation
- Working a 21 days on and 7 day off roster
- Commencing April (season runs until September 2024)
REQUIREMENTS
You must have or be willing to obtain the following prior to commencing:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Access to a reliable 4WD vehicle (for travelling to and from the lodge on RDO’s)
Though not essential, preference will be given to those with:
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Experience working as a Chef de Partie in a restaurant, hotel or café
- Experience catering for functions of up to 60
