ANNUAL SALARY:
$73k to $75k p/year
Position: Chef (based at Red Sands Tavern, Newman WA)
Reporting to: Head Chef
Overview
Required to plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food for our Tavern and Mess Hall.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations
• Working with our Head Chef to plan menus and estimate food and staff costs
• Preparing and cooking dishes, monitoring quality of dishes at all stages
• Maintaining food preparation and presentation to our high standards
• Ensuring food safety regulations are met by keeping up with temperature checks, cleaning
schedules and other hygiene procedures
• Supervising and training other kitchen team members
• Ordering food supplies and assisting with acceptance and storage of deliveries
Requirements:
• Diploma level qualifications
• At least 3 years full time work experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen
• Excellent time management abilities
• Passion for maintaining high standards under pressure
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff and suppliers
• A complete knowledge of a wide range of cooking practices and of safe, hygienic working
practices
• Excellent knowledge of Food operations & attention to detail
• Exceptional multi-tasking & organisational skills
This is an on-site position and RED SANDS offers full accommodation and meals to all our staff. This is not a FIFO position.
